Nowadays, it is believed that every business must focus on making maximum profit only. I believe that it should be the primary goal for a business to make more money; however, once a business is giving adequate returns, they should also pay attention towards other things, like charity, employee satisfaction, and experimenting with new business strategies.
Every business must focus on making maximum money in order to handle its own expenses such as paying salaries to employees, restocking inventory, and paying utilities. Unless a business can meet the basic expenses required to run the business, it is not possible to spend money on other places like charity and bonuses for employees.
On the other hand, once a business is stable and generating revenue for the owner, they should also focus on the team with whom they are working. Some small gestures like paying bonuses or paid vacations based on the performance of each employee would encourage them to work with more dedication and efficiency, which is also beneficial for the company’s growth in the long run.
Moreover, businesses also have some social responsibilities, which they should follow by contributing a small percentage of profits to charity events. With the help of some NGOs or other charitable organisations, corporates can organise events for the welfare of society. Ratan Tata, one of the richest businessmen in India, donates certain money to schools and hospitals in rural areas and is one of the biggest examples for others.
In conclusion, it is always the prime goal for every business to work towards financial growth, but if a business is established and starts earning a profit, it should also consider the well-being of its employees and society.
